Curious to try it first? Join class in the first or second week as a drop-in ($40/class)

Course Description

Come experience the freedom of flight and the support of suspension in this beginner friendly class. A playful cross between aerial yoga/flow, contact dance improvisation and individual movement exploration. Join for the full 6-week course or come on a drop-in basis for the first or second class in the series.

This course introduces students to low-hanging fabric slings. Through a balance of technical instruction and structured improvisational scores, students build confidence and creativity with moving both on the floor and in the air.

Over the six-week series, we’ll explore basic aerial sequences on the fabric slings, swinging and spinning, and the dynamic interplay between floor-based and aerial movement. As the course progresses, classes shift from a focus on individual exploration to working with partners or groups, often drawing on principles from contact dance improvisation.

This class is open to adults with a range of movement backgrounds and strength levels. The improvisational nature of the class allows for students to progress at their own pace. No prior aerial experience or particular level of fitness is required. Just a willingness to explore, play, and engage with the process.

Payments are by e-transfer for either the full 6-week course or to reserve your drop-in spot for March 17 or 24.
